Video calls on the TV via Apple TV will be possible with iOS 5.0. The third beta of iOS 5.0 has embedded some special features and one among those is the FaceTime via AirPlay. After opening the links in the background in Safari, users of the version found that video calls FaceTime were now compatible with AirPlay. In other words, it is possible to display the video stream of conversation on a TV via a second-generation Apple TV.

The value of the thing still leaves doubtful, except for use in business or to talk with your family. Unless Apple does already testing the integration of video calls on the big screen for the output of a hypothetical TV.
